Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
Pulsar Digital Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“Pulsar”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we handle it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Pulsar Digital Solutions (Pty) Ltd, registration number [CIPC registration number — to be added], 1 Gobabis, Radiokop, Roodepoort, Gauteng 1724, South Africa. Email tian@pulsardigital.co.za, phone +27 60 697 0361.
For the personal information described in sections 3 and 4, Pulsar is the responsible party (the party that decides why and how it is processed).
2. Information Officer
- Information Officer: Tian Vortsman
- Deputy Information Officer: Maryna Vortsman
- Contact: tian@pulsardigital.co.za — please put “POPIA” in the subject line.
3. What we collect through this website
The contact form
If you use the contact form we collect the details you type in: your name, email address, optional company name and phone number, the topic you choose and your message. We also see your IP address and browser details when you submit it (see “Security and logs” below).
WhatsApp, email and phone
If you contact us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone, we receive the details and messages you send. WhatsApp is operated by Meta; their privacy terms apply to messages you send through it.
Live status feature
The live status section checks the public addresses of our projects from our server. It does not collect any information about visitors.
4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry, and to provide a quote or demo you ask for — necessary to take steps at your request.
- To keep records of enquiries and protect the site from spam and abuse — our legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations — for example, tax and company-law record keeping where an engagement follows.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to. We do not make automated decisions about you.
5. Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers who help us run the website and our email, under confidentiality terms:
- our email provider (GoDaddy / secureserver.net), which delivers contact-form messages to our inbox;
- our hosting and server provider, which runs this website;
- authorities, where the law requires it.
Some providers may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a similar standard, as POPIA section 72 requires.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not set any cookies of its own. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner. The fonts are served from our own website. If this ever changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
7. Security and logs
We use HTTPS, restrict access to the server, and keep contact-form messages only in our company mailbox. To stop spam we hold your IP address in the server's memory for a short time (up to 24 hours) to count submissions; it is not written to a database. Our web server may also keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
8. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless they lead to an engagement, in which case we keep the records needed for the contract and for tax and company-law purposes. After that we delete them.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy;
- correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or that we should no longer keep;
- stop processing your information, or object to how we use it;
- withdraw consent you gave us (this does not affect processing that already took place).
Email the Information Officer at tian@pulsardigital.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
10. Client applications: Pulsar as operator
We also build, host and maintain software for clients — including Unison, The Kitchen Mafia, Orania365, Deloni, Hairstelle, Orania Sakekamer and Elite Muay Thai. When a person's information is captured in one of those systems, the client (the business that owns the system and its customers or staff) is the responsible party, and Pulsar is the operator that processes the information on the client's behalf, under a written agreement, as POPIA section 21 requires. We only process that information on the client's instructions, keep it confidential, apply appropriate security safeguards and notify the client if we become aware of a security compromise.
If your information is held in a client's system, please contact that client for access, correction or deletion requests. They have their own privacy policy. If you are not sure who to ask, email us and we will point you to the right party. For Unison, each business that uses the product is the responsible party for its own employees' and customers' information.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information properly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa):
- Website: inforegulator.org.za
- POPIA complaints: POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za
- General enquiries: enquiries@inforegulator.org.za · 010 023 5200
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
